Leilani

Art in colour, ink, yarn & paint

Kaleidoscope cut from a mandala in marker

Many of her pieces start at a single point, then grow outward until they fill the space.

Leilani works by hand: mandalas in marker and coloured pencil, fine black-ink line work, god's eyes and blankets in yarn, and paint on stone, wood and paper.

Nothing on this page is generated. The kaleidoscope, the waves, the woven bands, the knitted tunnel, the glowing lines, the rolling stones, the hanging heart and the jellyfish are all cut from her pieces.

Up close

Every dot, every stitch

Petals, line work, rows of knitting and painted scales, close enough to see the hand that made them.

The work

Turned on its point

Every piece sits in the lattice as a diamond. Hover to open one out, or select it to see it whole.

Look closer

Every petal, by hand

Hundreds of hand-drawn petals, hearts and diamonds, framed by four rainbow arcs and a small mandala in every corner. Move across the drawing, or press and drag, to see the detail.
